The Carlin Railroaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They fell 56-44 to Round Mountain. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carlin in their matchups with Round Mountain: they've now lost nine in a row.
Round Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Keiran Swafford, who scored 26 points along with six assists and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Swafford has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Bullington, who scored ten points along with six assists and six steals.
Carlin dropped their record down to 1-14 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.8 points per game. As for Round Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Carlin won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Owyhee at 5:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Round Mountain, they will head out on the road to take on American Heritage Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
