The Millville Thunderbolts will head out to challenge the Pitman Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Millville will be strutting in after a victory while Pitman will be coming in after a defeat.
Millville barely beat Pennsville Memorial the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Thunderbolts blew past the Eagles 13-2 on Tuesday. The Thunderbolts not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 19th (when they won 18-1).
Cole Mulharan and Garrett Shapiro made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Mulharan struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Shapiro struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Mulharan went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double, while Shapiro got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Mulharan a new career-high.

In other batting news, Nathan Heacox and Logan Burlew did most of the damage at the plate: Heacox got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, while Burlew went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave Heacox a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Tull, who went 2-for-5 with two runs and one double.
Millville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .537. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 20 runs the game before, Pitman was a bit more limited in their game on Saturday. They came up short against Cinnaminson, falling 15-1. The Panthers have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Pitman saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Logan Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Pitman's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Millville, their record is now 4-10.
Pitman's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Millville has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Pitman, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Millville keep running through batters, or will the Panthers buck the trend?
Millville beat Pitman 6-3 in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbolts since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
