After a string of three wins, the Laney Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 69-50 bruising from Putnam County. Laney was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Putnam County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Journey Waller continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Putnam County, scoring 18 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The contest was Waller's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kadyn Dennis, who scored 12 points.
Laney's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Putnam County, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1.
Laney will be home for the holidays to greet Glenn Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Putnam County, they will head out on the road to face off against Butler at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Butler has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 182 points over their last three contests.
