Riverside has been on the road for two straight, but on Saturday they'll finally head home. They will take on the ED White Commanders at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Riverside had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victor by a 76-53 margin over Westside. Given Riverside's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while Westside is ranked 500th), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jaquan Wells was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 18 points, 18 rebounds, and 21 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tae'Shuan Gelsey, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, ED White waltzed into their game on Thursday with four straight wins but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 50-35 win over Stanton.
Riverside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. As for ED White, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.
Riverside strolled past ED White in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 by a score of 69-54. Does Riverside have another victory up their sleeve, or will ED White turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
