The Snowflake Lobos will head out to take on the Valley Christian Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Snowflake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.
While Snowflake's win against Payson wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lobos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Longhorns on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Lobos have posted against the Longhorns since April 30, 2021.

The result came thanks to Kashlynn Cantrell's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Snowflake saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Graycee Skousen, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, Valley Christian came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Trojans have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Leigha Kremlacek made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Ryann Nelson was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lo Sloan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Valley Christian hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 15 consecutive contests.
Valley Christian pushed their record up to 16-2-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Snowflake, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Both Snowflake and Valley Christian just can't seem to miss. The Lobos have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.8 hits per game. However, it's not like Valley Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Snowflake came out on top in a nail-biter against Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2022, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lobos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
