ROMOLAND, Calif. - the Patriots scored 35 points in the second quarter to secure a big 56-3 victory over Perris (Calif.) on Saturday.
Heritage scored on a touchdown pass by
Aleva Hifo to
Sione Takitaki, a defensive touchdown, an Hifo touchdown pass to
Matthew Palmer, a punt return touchdown by Takitaki and a touchdown pass by Hifo to
Evan Rodriguez in the quarter.
After taking the lead on an Hifo touchdown pass to Takitaki in the second quarter, HHS led 35-3 at the half.
The Romoland school grew its lead to 46 points entering the fourth quarter. The Patriots scored two times in the third, including once on an Hifo touchdown run.
Coming into the game Heritage had allowed 21.8 points per game this year. HHS held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Panthers well below the 16.2 points it had been averaging per game.
Heritage (5-1) will play a Sunbelt game against Temescal Canyon next week, while Perris (2-4) will take on Paloma Valley also in a Sunbelt game.
