Big Island I recap Oct. 9, 2012
Kealakehe extended the longest winning streak in Big Island I this week by beating Hilo, 14-6. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Waiakea took down Kea'au 25-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Kealakehe's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Waveriders feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jordan Cristobal has thrown for 780 yards and eight touchdowns this season, while Lennox Costales has 30 catches for 434 yards. Costales leads the league in rushing with 672 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Vikings take on the Warriors. As it stands, Hilo is in second, while Waiakea is in third.
The Warriors made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,305 from 8,457. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 25-8 victory over the Cougars last week.
