Routt Catholic came into Monday's game having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Carrollton Hawks 11-1 on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Anson Butcher was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jace Lautemann, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Routt Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Routt Catholic's win bumped their record up to 16-11. As for Carrollton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Routt Catholic will square off against West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Rockets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Carrollton, they will face off against Southwestern at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
