Panther Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ja'tez Ward led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven steals and five assists. Those seven steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Ware, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds.
Despite the loss, Apex still got an impressive performance from Zaelyn White, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. White is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Michael Jahnke, who scored eight points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Panther Creek and bumps their season record up to 9-4. As for Apex, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-7.
Panther Creek will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Green Hope at 8:00 p.m. Green Hope will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 521st, while Panther Creek is ranked 66th). As for Apex, they will head out on the road to face off against Sanderson at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sanderson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 409 points over their last six matches.
