Cranston East had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hope Blue Wave with a sharp 13-5 victory. That's two games straight that the Thunderbolts have won by exactly eight runs.

Lexi Montalban was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Nevaeh Fatorma was a standout: she got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Cydnee Meekins, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one double.

Cranston East hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive matches.

Cranston East pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hope, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8.
