While losing is never fun, New Knoxville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 694th, while Marion Local is ranked 81st).
New Knoxville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brynn Egbert, who scored six points along with two steals. Addi Albers was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
New Knoxville struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They are winless (0-4) when they just don't pass the ball.
New Knoxville's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Marion Local, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Knoxville will take on Houston at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Marion Local, they will be playing at home against Waynesville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Waynesville will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
