After losing to the Del Norte Nighthawks the last time they met, the Ramona Bulldogs decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Ramona walked away with a 57-49 victory over Del Norte on Friday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Ramona's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 579th, while Del Norte is ranked 253rd).
It was another big night for Chase Newman, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Ramona's points. Daniel Penner was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists.
The win made it two in a row for Ramona and bumps their season record up to 11-16. As for Del Norte, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-13.
Ramona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Del Norte also has no future games currently scheduled.
