Caravel extended the longest winning streak in Freelance this week by beating Christiana, 48-0. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Caravel took down the Vikings 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Derrick Groomes threw for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Brian Rogers provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Archmere Academy topped Seaford. He completed six passes for 107 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 43 yards. Rogers' favorite target this week was Jack Malloy, who caught three passes for 63 yards.
Aaron Hudson was the best wideout in the league this week as John Reed's team beat Christiana. Hudson tallied two receptions for 118 yards. George Murray helped Caravel's passing attack out by catching one ball for 21 yards.
Taaron Brown was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 16 carries, he ran for 131 yards as St. Mark's bested Marvin Dooley's team. Teammate Edward Mendez added to the ground attack by rushing for 113 yards.
St. Elizabeth's Christian Gwynn and Andre Patton have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Freelance in both passing and receiving yards. Gwynn has thrown for 1134 yards this season, while Patton, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 37 catches for 531 yards. Caravel's Pierce Ripanti leads the league in rushing yards with 782.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Auks and Delaware Military Academy. Archmere Academy enters the contest ranked 12th in the state, while Delaware Military Academy ranks 13th.
Conrad Science made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 14,123 from 14,228. The advance stemmed from a 20-0 victory over the Redskins last week.
