The Cortez Colts will be home for the holidays to greet the Eastmark Firebirds at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cortez will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 237th, while Eastmark is ranked 36th).
Last Wednesday, Cortez had to suffer through a rough 65-27 loss at the hands of Bourgade Catholic. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cortez in their matchups with Bourgade Catholic: they've now lost four in a row.
Eastmark has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Agua Fria 51-25.
Cortez's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Eastmark, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-3.
Cortez was taken down by Eastmark 79-22 in their previous meeting back in January. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Cortez was down 46-18.
