Eaglecrest scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Cherry Creek, 29-28. At the time, the Bruins were ranked 12th in the state, while the Raptors were 47th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Eaglecrest, who took down 12th ranked Cherry Creek, 29-28. Soto, Adan threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 11 yards in the win.
Tanner Gentry was the best wideout in 5A Centennial this week as Grandview topped Smoky Hill. Gentry racked up three receptions for 83 yards. Daijhawn Williams helped Grandview's passing attack out by catching two balls for 48 yards.
Luke Papilion provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Dave Logan's team fell to Michael Schmitt's team. He completed 17 passes for 185 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 18 yards. Papilion's favorite target this week was Joseph Parker Iv, who caught five passes for 65 yards.
Keifer Glau made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wolves bested the Buffaloes. The 5-foot-9 defensive back grabbed two interceptions.
Cassius Davis was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 112 yards as Grandview bested Smoky Hill. Teammate Isaiah Jackson added to the ground attack by rushing for 65 yards.
John Schultz's team's Reece Weber and Gentry have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Weber has thrown for 1512 yards this season, while Gentry, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 41 catches for 908 yards. Tahj Willingham from the Bruins leads the league in rushing with 1199 yards.
Gentry of the the Wolves' is a few catches away from breaking 1,000 yards for the season. He needs only 92 receiving yards in this week's game against Fairview to get there.
The Raptors made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,790 from 3,537. The improvement came about via a 29-28 victory over Cherry Creek last week.
