The Bishop Verot Vikings will take on the Cardinal Newman Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Bishop Verot's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Gulf Coast 42-0. Considering the Vikings have won three contests by more than 32 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

It was another big night for Deshon Jenkins Jr, who rushed for 145 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Gonzalez, who gained 99 total yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Bishop Verot was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 238 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Bishop Verot's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Kymani Nicholas with two. He also made six total tackles, which is notable because Bishop Verot is 3-1 when he posts at least three total tackles, but 1-3 otherwise.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Cardinal Newman ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They managed a 26-20 victory over West Boca Raton. The win was familiar territory for the Crusaders, who have now won three games in a row.
The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Phoenix Donghia and Javian Mallory. Donghia had a great game and rushed for 92 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries. Meanwhile, Mallory was balling out in the loss, rushing for 168 yards and one TD while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also catching one touchdown.
Cardinal Newman's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Bishop Verot, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Bishop Verot has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 154.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cardinal Newman struggles in that department as they've been averaging 229.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
