The Pomona Panthers's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They strolled past Wheat Ridge with points to spare, taking the game 43-29. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pomona also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.
Kendra Ritzmann was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. Aaliyah Valenzuela was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven blocks.
Pomona has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Wheat Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pomona's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Alameda at 6:00 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Alameda focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 on Wednesday. As for Wheat Ridge, they will be playing at home against D'Evelyn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. D'Evelyn is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
