Kyle Mayer and Adam Carpenter provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Portville. The connection went for 72 yards, the longest such play in Section 6 D this season.
Maple Grove extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating International Prep at Grover, 31-0. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Frewsburg's Nick Munella and Cody Haller have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Munella has thrown for 766 yards this season, while Haller, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 12 catches for 314 yards. Ryan Miller from Chautauqua Lake leads the league in rushing with 555 yards.
A big matchup in Section 6 D this week will be when the Panthers take on Maple Grove. As it stands, Portville is in fourth, while Curt Fischer's team is in first.
Silver Creek moved up to 122 from 157 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Black Knights were able to make move up by beating the Bears 33-8.
