The South Pittsburg Pirates put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They breezed by Sale Creek at home to the tune of 44-0. The result was nothing new for South Pittsburg, who have now won seven contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
South Pittsburg's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 48.0 points per game. As for Sale Creek, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-3.
South Pittsburg will be playing in front of their home fans against Whitwell at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Whitwell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 210th, while South Pittsburg is ranked 65th). As for Sale Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Copper Basin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
