Manchester Memorial's Chris Lemieux was left with a familiar feeling after this year's 52nd New Hampshire Decathlon.
A strong second-day performance at Nashua South High School helped Lemieux win the event for the second time in as many years.
Lemieux finished with 6,066 points. The top six included Londonderry's Brenden Bice (5,907), Nashua South's Kevin Lewis (5,632), Winnacunnet's Brett Sanchez (5,392), Bow's Dylan Lucas (5,392) and Nashua North's Ian McAfee (5,381).
Lemieux trailed Bice by 200 points after the first day of competition, but collected at least 600 points in four of Sunday's five events. His second-day effort included a victory in the javelin with a toss of 169 feet, 4 inches.
"After I threw that javelin I was so excited," Lemieux told the Manchester Union Leader. "When it left my hand I knew (it was good), and that's why I let out a scream. It means a lot to me, winning back to back."
Pinkerton Academy's Bree Robinson also used a strong second-day performance to defend her title in the Heptathlon.
Robinson earned 3,993 points to finish ahead of Londonderry's Becca Parascandola (3,846), Nashua North's Shalyn Johnson (3,839), Bishop Guertin's Beth McKenna (3,582) and Inter-Lakes' Danica Goodheart (3,561).
Robinson was in fourth place after Saturday portion of the event, but surged into first place by winning the long jump (16-7) Sunday. She secured the victory by finishing ahead of Parascandola in the 800 meters.
"In the 800 I kind of stayed with the pack," Robinson said. "I got what I needed to pull it out at the end."

The Senior All-Star Classic baseball game between representatives from New Hampshire and Maine was scheduled to be played Monday at the University of Southern Maine, but was postponed because of rain. The game will not be rescheduled.
