Emmett is 1-9 against Bishop Kelly since April of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Huskies will host the Knights at 3:00 p.m. Emmett has given up an average of 10 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Emmett's offense. They lost 12-0 to Skyview on Thursday.
Emmett saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Titus Campos, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bishop Kelly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Nampa 11-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Cooper Chapman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Bishop Kelly's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Emmett, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Emmett has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bishop Kelly struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Emmett might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Bishop Kelly when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will the Huskies have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
