Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bishop Kelly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Nampa 11-10. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
Cooper Chapman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He pitched 4.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Bishop Kelly's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Emmett, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-17.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Emmett has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bishop Kelly struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
