Softball Recap: Cornerstone Christian's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cornerstone Christian won against Heritage Christian Academy on Monday with ten runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Cornerstone Christian Chargers didn't even let the Heritage Christian Academy Eagles on the board, marking the Cornerstone Christian Chargers' second-straight 10-0 shutout. The Chargers' victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

Kenzie Bailey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. Bailey was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Bailey is crushing it when it comes to hits: she's got at least three every time she's taken the field this season.

In other batting news, Cornerstone Christian let Laney Wilson and Taylor Brownlee run wild. Wilson scored two runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4, while Brownlee scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Brownlee is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Alizabeth Cleckler was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Cornerstone Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Cornerstone Christian's record is now 3-0. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Coosa Valley Academy at 2:00 p.m. on March 31st. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they are taking a road trip to square off against Evangel Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
