Leading Lanier Christian Academy to victory were Ellie Roberts and Jia Thapar. Roberts scored 15 points along with five rebounds, while Thapar scored 19 points. That's the first time this season that Roberts scored 15 or more points. Emma Flowers was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six assists.
Lanier Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Young Americans Christian, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lanier Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fideles Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 12th. Young Americans Christian is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Killian Hill Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 16th. Killian Hill Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last 13 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
