The White Plains Tigers came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 47-42 W over Boys & Girls.
It was another big night for Ineivi Plata, who scored 18 points along with seven assists and seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sequoia Layne, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds.
White Plains is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Boys & Girls, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.
White Plains will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Port Chester at 5:00 p.m. Port Chester will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 471st, while White Plains is ranked 196th). As for Boys & Girls, they will head out on the road to take on Banneker Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Banneker Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
