The Lewis-Palmer Rangers will head out on the road to face off against the Ponderosa Mustangs on Tuesday. Hopefully Lewis-Palmer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Friday.
Last Friday, Lewis-Palmer lost to Mead at home by a decisive 60-44 margin. Lewis-Palmer has not had much luck with Mead recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Kendall Lane, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds. Rylee Edmondson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Ponderosa had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against Sand Creek on Wednesday as Ponderosa made off with a 48-22 victory.
Among those leading the charge was Maddison Neale , who scored 23 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Cate Schoultz, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 7 steals.
With Lewis-Palmer's victory and Mead's defeat, both teams now sport identical 1-1 records.
Lewis-Palmer came up short against Ponderosa in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 49-41. Thankfully for Lewis-Palmer, Kayli Spall (who scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
