3A Conference 10 recap September 10, 2013
Christian Miles and Tereak McCray provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Cummings. The connection was good for 79 yards, the longest such play in 3A Conference 10 this season.
Eastern Guilford scaled the state rankings by moving to 75 from 102 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of topping Eastern Randolph 21-0.
Eastern Alamance's dynamic duo of John Lamont and Malik Wilson proved to be unstoppable against Southern Alamance, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lamont threw for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns and Wilson had 238 yards receiving. Gavin Dicken helped Eastern Alamance's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 43 yards.
The Eagles' dynamic duo of Lamont and Wilson proved tough for the Patriots to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Wilson had a great week catching the football as Eastern Alamance lost to Southern Alamance.
Cj Freeman was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 216 yards on 21 carries as Northern Guilford lost to the Patriots. Teammate Chris Ripberger added to the ground attack by rushing for 27 yards.
Lamont put up the best numbers through the air as Eastern Alamance lost to Southern Alamance.
Freeman was a force in the backfield as the Nighthawks topped Northwest Guilford.
Wilson was the best wideout in 3A Conference 10 this week as the Eagles lost to the Patriots.
Miles provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Williams defeated the Cavaliers.
Eastern Alamance's Joey Lanier and Wilson have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Lanier has thrown for 370 yards this season, while Wilson has 9 catches for 281 yards. The Bulldogs' Jameion Harvey leads the league in rushing yards with 383.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Morehead takes on Western Alamance. At the moment, the Panthers are in fifth, while the Warriors are in first.
Williams was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from sixth to fourth in the league. David Green's team beat Cummings 39-33 earlier in the week.
