The Cheatham County Central Cubs will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Lawrence County Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Lawrence County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Cheatham County Central, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Cheatham County Central blew past Stewart County, posting a 56-7 victory at home. The win was just what Cheatham County Central needed coming off of a 41-15 defeat in their prior match.
Among those leading the charge was Patrick Kelly, who rushed for 25 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 190 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Tydarius Bright, who gained 93 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Lawrence County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 31-30 to Franklin County.
Despite the defeat, Lawrence County got a solid performance out of Tay Everly, who rushed for 98 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 33 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Trammell, who threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns.
Cheatham County Central's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Lawrence County, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
