Lee Park Prep's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Isaac Watkins, who went 6-for-15 en route to 17 points in addition to six assists and three steals. The game was Watkins' fourth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Adams, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 15 points.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for NorthPoint Christian Academy on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Providence Classical out of the water with a 70-37 final score. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-20.
Lee Park Prep better focus on containing Gabe Spann and Chelan Chudgar as the pair were huge in NorthPoint Christian Academy's win. Spann went 9-for-13 on his way to 27 points along with five assists and three steals, while Chudgar went 10-for-21 en route to 25 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Chudgar a new career-high in shooting accuracy (48%). Another player making a difference was Micah Enriquez, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 rebounds and nine steals.
Watkins wasn't the only one working in the assist department: NorthPoint Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
NorthPoint Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-9. As for Lee Park Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 15-4.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Lee Park Prep has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 37.3 boards per game. However, it's not like NorthPoint Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
