The Foothill Knights will head out on the road to take on the Tesoro Titans at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Foothill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.

Foothill saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came out on top against Vista Murrieta by a score of 6-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Reng Hailey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Abigail Lawson was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Aurora Autagavaia also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Tesoro came up short against Santa Margarita on Tuesday and fell 5-1. The matchup marked the Titans' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Tesoro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Reese Fraser, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Izzy Roberts was another, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base.

Tesoro's loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Foothill, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.

Foothill's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's game. Foothill has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Tesoro, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Foothill continue to outrun the ball?

Foothill couldn't quite finish off Tesoro when the teams last played back in February of 2023 and fell 4-2. Can Foothill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
