Skaneateles is 4-0 against Canastota since October of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Skaneateles Lakers will be playing at home against the Canastota Red Raiders at 6:30 p.m. Canastota took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Skaneateles, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, everything went Skaneateles' way against Marcellus as Skaneateles made off with a 42-21 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Skaneateles.
Skaneateles' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Domnick Caraccio, who rushed for 71 yards and three touchdowns, and Torin Bennett, who rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Canastota's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were beaten by Solvay 42-12. While losing is never fun, Canastota can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while Solvay is ranked 172nd).
Skaneateles has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Canastota, their defeat on Friday dropped their record down to 2-4.
Skaneateles was able to grind out a solid win over Canastota in their previous meeting back in September of 2022, winning 20-12. Will Skaneateles repeat their success, or does Canastota have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
