Dynamic Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Mt. Zion Prep Academy Warriors at 11:40 a.m. on January 15th. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard on Monday.
On Saturday, Dynamic Prep beat Shabach Christian Academy 62-55. Given Dynamic Prep's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in Texas, while Shabach Christian Academy is ranked 31st in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jaden Toombs was his usual excellent self, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 11 games he's played. Jaylen Washington was another key contributor, scoring two points along with nine assists and four steals.
Mt. Zion Prep Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 74-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lanham Christian on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (61), Mt. Zion Prep Academy still had to take the loss.
Dynamic Prep's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Mt. Zion Prep Academy, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 20-4.
