After a string of four wins, Starr's Mill's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Woodward Academy War Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the War Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 last Thursday.

While Starr's Mill had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-18.

Ember Ness paced Starr's Mill's offense, picking up nine kills. Ness got some help from Katie Gutshall and her eight assists. Sammie Brady controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Starr's Mill's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Woodward Academy, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Looking ahead, Starr's Mill will challenge East Coweta at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Woodward Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against North Forsyth at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
