The Highland Hawks will challenge the Cibola Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Cibola will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Highland extended their winning streak to nine on Thursday. Everything went the Hawks' way against Gilbert as they made off with an 11-1 win.

Alena Mascarenas was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Layla Napoli was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Highland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cibola). They put the hurt on Kofa with a sharp 25-5 victory on Thursday.
Eliana Corea made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Corea was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Cibola got a massive performance out of Cameron Kasid, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Kasid has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jizelle Robles, who went 3-for-5 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Highland's win bumped their record up to 19-8. As for Cibola, their victory bumped their record up to 16-10-1.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Highland has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.9 hits per game. However, it's not like Cibola struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Highland's way against Cibola in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, as Highland made off with a 9-0 win. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
