The Reed Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 38-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of McQueen. Reed has struggled against McQueen recently, as their match on Tuesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Amanda Narcise and Jazmyn Wright certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Narcise scored eight points, while Wright scored eight points.
Caitlin Hilson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for McQueen, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds. Hilson has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Nisenfeld, who scored five points along with nine rebounds and six steals.
Reed dropped their record down to 1-13 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for McQueen, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Reed on the road again on Thursday and play against Damonte Ranch at 5:15 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Damonte Ranch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for McQueen, they will head out on the road to square off against Galena at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
