They took a 34-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Augusta. While losing is never fun, Gray Collegiate Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while North Augusta is ranked seventh).
Gray Collegiate Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Karlee Phelps, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and seven blocks. Another player making a difference was Kadence Walker-lee, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
Gray Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for North Augusta, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gray Collegiate Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Legion Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Augusta, they will be playing at home against Airport at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
