The Highland Huskies won against the Kootenai Warriors on Thursday with 64 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Highland walked away with a 64-53 win over Kootenai. With that win, Highland brought their scoring average up to 50.6 points per game.
Highland's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gage Crow, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 assists. Crow also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Ty Goeckner was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds.
Highland pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points per game. As for Kootenai, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will challenge Genesee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Genesee comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Kootenai will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Genesis Prep Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
