The Highland Park Hornets''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 56-32 loss at the hands of Farwell. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Highland Park's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Elyes Torres, who picked up 213 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Torres' longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Thomspon, who threw for 429 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes.
Highland Park has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for Farwell, their victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-2.
Highland Park will take on Stratford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Stratford's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last six contests. As for Farwell, they will head out on the road to face off against West Texas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
