After flying high against the Breckenridge Bulldogs last Monday, the Bevier Wildcats came back down to earth. Bevier was beaten by the Eagles 76-32 on Wednesday. Bevier was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-20.
Meadville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mason Dennis, who scored 11 points along with seven steals and six assists. Another player making a difference was Walker Norris, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Bevier's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Meadville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bevier will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Gophers at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Green City presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in Missouri (the Gophers are ranked 69th, while the Wildcats are ranked 518th). As for Meadville, they will head out on the road to square off against the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hale will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
