Gainesville won the last time they faced Monroe Area and things went their way on Saturday too. The Red Elephants skirted past the Purple Hurricanes 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Elephants.

Gainesville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-16, 15-10.

Gainesville's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Monroe Area, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-21.

Gainesville has already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Union County on the 20th. As for Monroe Area, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lakeside on the 20th.
