After losing to Varnado the last time they met, Covenant Christian Academy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Covenant Christian Academy came out on top against Varnado by a score of 39-30 on Friday.
The contest started off well for Covenant Christian Academy, whose offense put up 27 first-half points. Varnado wasn't quite able to keep up, scoring 14 to make it 27-14 heading into the break. Although Covenant Christian Academy wound up losing the second-half battle, they still had enough in reserve to win the war. The win bumped their record up to 5-1. Varnado are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-5.
Covenant Christian Academy will take on West St. John at home at 7:00 PM next week. West St. John also lit up the scoreboard in their last match, so this could be a high-scoring match. As for Varnado, they will face off against St. Martin's Episcopal. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
