Lanier Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Meav Fouts led the charge by scoring six points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Another player making a difference was Elliana Clark, who scored nine points.
Even though Young Americans Christian has not done well against Fideles Christian recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Young Americans Christian strolled past Fideles Christian with points to spare, taking the game 57-38. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Young Americans Christian.
It was another big night for Shelby Housworth, who scored 31 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassidy Scott, who scored 17 points.
The win (which was Lanier Christian Academy's third in a row) raised their record to 14-7. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 42.33 points. As for Young Americans Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Tuesday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Lanier Christian Academy have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 31.7 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Young Americans Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 19.8 rebounds per game. Given Lanier Christian Academy's sizeable advantage in that area, Young Americans Christian will need to find a way to close that gap.
