Millard South is 8-2 against Omaha Northwest since December of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. It'll be Northside v. Southside when the Millard South Patriots and the Omaha Northwest Huskies meet at 7:00 p.m. Millard South is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.6 points per game this season.
Last Friday, Millard South didn't have too much trouble with Norfolk as they won 72-54. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Panthers are ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Millard South's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Koby Meyers led the charge by going 7 for 10 to rack up 17 points and five boards. The game was Meyers' third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Carter Margheim, who posted eight points along with five assists and five steals.
Millard South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January of 2024.
Meanwhile, Omaha Northwest came up short against Omaha Central on Friday, falling 63-43. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Millard South will have to contain DaWayne Kearney as he made an impact in Omaha Northwest's last game. He went 5 of 12 on his way to 15 points. Kearney continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Michael Dubose was another key player, putting up nine points and five blocks.
Millard South is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.4 points over those games. As for Omaha Northwest, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's contest: Millard South has been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 34.7% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Omaha Northwest, though, as they've only made 24.9% of their three-pointers this season. Given Millard South's sizable advantage in that area, Omaha Northwest will need to find a way to close that gap.
Millard South took their win against Omaha Northwest in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 98-75. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Omaha Northwest's Chiok John, who shot 4-for-5 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 41 points and 12 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be easier for Millard South to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
