After flying high against Valley Fellowship Christian Academy last Friday, the Grace Classical Christian Academy Highlanders came back down to earth. Grace Classical Christian Academy took a hard 60-46 fall against Varsity Opponent on Monday. Grace Classical Christian Academy has not had much luck with Varsity Opponent recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Grace Classical Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Maddox Werkmeister, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four blocks, and Zachary Hollowell who scored 20 points along with three steals and three blocks. It was the first time this season that Hollowell posted two or more blocks.
Grace Classical Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Varsity Opponent, their victory bumped their record up to 381-1378-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Classical Christian Academy is on the road again on Friday and plays Master's Hand Christian at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Hopefully Grace Classical Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will head out on the road to challenge City University School of Liberal Arts at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. City University School of Liberal Arts is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.4 points per game this season.
