The Parkridge Christian Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Sheridan Hills Christian Sharks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Parkridge Christian is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
On Friday, Parkridge Christian didn't have quite enough to beat South Florida HEAT and fell 3-2.
Parkridge Christian wouldn't go down easily and took South Florida HEAT into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-21, 25-21, 17-25, 15-8.
Despite their loss, Parkridge Christian saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Magnolia Williamson, who had eight digs, five kills, four aces, and one block, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Cooper, who had 16 digs, nine kills, and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Sheridan Hills Christian suffered their biggest defeat since September 11th on Tuesday. They came up short against American Heritage, falling 3-0.
While Sheridan Hills Christian was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into American Heritage's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-15, 25-16.
Parkridge Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Sheridan Hills Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
Parkridge Christian skirted past Sheridan Hills Christian 3-2 when the teams last played back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
