Charlotte Christian is 2-8 against Providence Day since November of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Knights will square off against the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Charlotte Christian sitting on three straight victories and Providence Day on 12.
Charlotte Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They came out on top against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee by a score of 55-48. The game was the first time the Knights have beaten the Eagles on their field since November 11, 2022.

It was another big night for Jamal Rule, who rushed for 189 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 126 receiving yards and one touchdown. His longest reception was for an incredible 71 yards. Tate Estep also helped out with an impressive 96 receiving yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Charlotte Christian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 222 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 175 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Providence Day against Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] on Friday as the squad secured a 41-7 win. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won 11 matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Charlotte Christian better keep an eye on Zaid Lott. He was instrumental in Providence Day's win, throwing for 223 yards and five TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 47 yards and one score. Lott has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Gordon Sellars did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 125 receiving yards.
Providence Day's defense made their presence known, laying out Lucas Lopez nine times. Jace Goodwin was especially locked on to Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy]'s QB and sacked him five times. Thanks to that big game, Goodwin is now up to 15.5 sacks on the season. Providence Day got some further help from Hudson Clavin: he picked up a sack and made seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Charlotte Christian's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Providence Day, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Charlotte Christian has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 159.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Providence Day struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 184.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Charlotte Christian suffered a grim 46-20 defeat to Providence Day in their previous meeting back in October. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
