On Tuesday, the Blythewood Bengals faced the Indian Land Warriors in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Blythewood walked away with a 66-57 victory over Indian Land. 66 seems to be a good number for Blythewood as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Blythewood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Will Olden, who scored 13 points along with 5 assists. The contest was Olden's third in a row with at least ten points. Tyler Stephens was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Indian Land saw an underclassman step up: Michael Jones scored 36 points. Jones scored a full 63.2% of Indian Land's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Drakeford, who scored 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
The win (which was Blythewood's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Indian Land, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blythewood will stay at home for another game and welcome Ridge View at 8:00 p.m. on December 1st. One thing working in Ridge View's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Indian Land, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lugoff-Elgin at 7:45 p.m. Hopefully Lugoff-Elgin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Monday.
