Oxon Hill has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Central Falcons at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Oxon Hill knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully the Falcons likes a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Oxon Hill gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat College Park Academy 89-7 at home. Given Oxon Hill's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the are ranked 246th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Oxon Hill to victory, but perhaps none more so than Damia Worthy, who scored 16 points along with six steals. Worthy is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dashani Coleman, who scored 15 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 55 points the game before, Central were a bit more limited in their game on Tuesday. They were beaten by Surrattsville 69-21. Central has struggled against the Hornets recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Oxon Hill pushed their record up to 14-4 with that victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 46.6 points. As for Central, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Oxon Hill strolled past the Falcons in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 61-42. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oxon Hill since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
