Huntingdon and Mount Union are an even 4-4 against one another  since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Huntingdon Bearcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mount Union Trojans at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.  On Thursday, Huntingdon sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  7-6  victory over West Branch. The  win was just what Huntingdon needed coming off of  a  10-1 loss in their prior  matchup.
  Ashton Steele made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over four innings pitched. Steele was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Lincoln Miller, who  went 2-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Gavin Woodward, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Mount Union had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Hornets  a   1-0 shutout. That's two games straight that Mount Union has won by  just one  run.
 Not much got past  Davin Yocum, who gave up just  two  hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Juniata Valley off the board.
 At the plate, Mount Union saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Cainen Atherton, who  went 2-for-3 with two  doubles.
 Huntingdon's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Mount Union, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with that  win, which was their third straight  at home.
 Monday's   contest will be a test for both team's pitchers. Huntingdon hasn't had any issues making contact this season,  having earned a batting average of .333. However, it's not like Mount Union struggles in that department as   they've  averaged .359. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
 Huntingdon might still be hurting after the  9-1 defeat they got from Mount Union  in their previous matchup  back in March of 2023. Thankfully for Huntingdon,  Ryan Scott (who   tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off   five  hits) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
