Basketball Recap: Tracy Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Tracy extended their winning streak to nine games thanks to a huge performance from Maximillian Russell. It was close, but the Tracy Bulldogs ultimately received the gift of a 50-47 victory from a begrudging Bulldogs squad thanks in part to Russell, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine rebounds. His evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Breckenridge, who posted nine points and five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played.

Tracy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game. As for Manteca, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Tracy will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd. Lincoln knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Tracy likes a good challenge. As for Manteca, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 69-54 defeat against Clovis West on the 26th.
