Wapahani hasn't had much luck against Lapel recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Raiders will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Wapahani turned things around against Randolph Southern on Friday. They never let the Rebels get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The Raiders' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Zoey Koger made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Clair Murrell, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Lyla Chambers was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Wapahani always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .706. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive matchups.
Lapel came out on top against Eastern Hancock on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fifth inning. The Bulldogs blew past the Royals 10-0. Considering the Bulldogs have won nine games by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Addison Bodenhorn made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Bodenhorn was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, Paige Stires was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Delaney Balser, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.
Wapahani's record now sits at 2-12. As for Lapel, their record is now 16-5.
Wapahani suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Lapel in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
